Title
"Boys are tough, not smart": Counseling gifted and talented young and adolescent boys
Abstract
The purposes of this chapter are to raise awareness about the hardships of gifted and talented boys and to describe the process of counseling them. First, we define the terms giftedness and talent. Second, we discuss various adjustment and psychological issues that are common among gifted and talented boys. Finally, to illustrate therapeutic work with gifted boys, two case studies are presented. The first case study is focused on counseling, and the second on assessment.
