Abstract
Reviews the literature on the identification of gifted infants and preschoolers. The importance of early identification is stressed. Difficulties encountered in attempting to identify potential giftedness in very young children are discussed. The traditional identification method (a group ability test followed by individual intelligence testing) and the case study method are examined.
